Human Race founder John Lunt has pledged to shave off his cherished 30-year-old moustache next month – but only if the men of Human Race can raise £500 for 'Movember'.

So far, 11 men in the Human Race offices have agreed to grow a moustache for Movember, which aims to raise vital funds for Prostate Cancer UK and other men's health-oriented charities. You can donate to the Human Race team here.

John said: “I’ve had a moustache for over thirty years now and am very fond of it. However, all great things must come to an end. If shaving my moustache can help motivate our team to grow their own versions and raise money for Movember, then it’s worth it.

"Only my wife has really known me without it, so I think it will be a shock for a few people, probably me included if I actually have to go through with this.”

Human Race, which organises some of the UK's best-known triathlons including Windsor Triathlon, has also pledged to donate £5 to Prostate Cancer UK for everyone who enters one of its two November events sporting a moustache.

These are the Winter Ballbuster duathlon on November 9th, and the Wildman duathlon on November 16th
