In search of the Olympic torch

Sevenoaks Tri Club are looking for the torch

Have you already carried the Olympic Torch or will you be carrying it before Sunday 8 July? Are you passionate about encouraging young people in sport? Could you come to Tonbridge School Sports Centre on the afternoon of Sunday 8th July?

If the answer to all of these questions is yes then 7Oaks Tri Club, the organisers of the 7Oaks Junior Aquathlon, would like to hear from you.

Race Director Mike Clyne says, “Oour entries are nearly full for the 8-16 year olds taking part in our event. We believe that our race offers experienced and novice competitors the chance to shine at a great venue with friendly marshals, chip timing and a great finishers medal.

“This is a great year to encourage young people to take part in sport and therefore we would very much like to invite a torchbearer to come to our event with their torch so that the competitors can see it for themselves.

“If they could go away with their finisher medal and a picture of them with the torch this would be a memory to savour”.
