Some good news at last on the Xterra England debacle – organisers Limelight Sports have stepped in to deliver the off-road triathlon as previously planned at the Vachery Estate in Surrey on 24 August.

Limelight are the organisers of events such as the Royal Parks Foundation Half-Marathon and the London Duathlon, and have now secured rights from the Vachery Estate and Xterra headquarters to deliver the Xterra England Championship race using the same course as last year.

Xterra President Janet Clark said: “We have history with Limelight Sports, as we work with their Australian branch to produce the Xterra Great Ocean Road off-road triathlon in Anglesea and the new Xterra Asia-Pacific Championship at Jervis Bay. We are confident in their abilities, resources and skill to perpetuate Xterra in the UK and very much appreciate their willingness to step in and take over.”

Brave Events, which organised last year's Xterra England, announced just under a month ago that they planned to cease trading immediately due to an alleged dispute with Surrey county council, leaving the future of Xterra England and Vachery Triathlon in the balance.

The new organisers are asking everyone who registered previously with Brave Events to register their email address at www.xterraengland.com and tweet them at @XTERRA_UK so that they can get in touch with details on registration into the new event.
