Velomann V1.23

The Velomann sounded promising but proved to be a very frustrating comp to use. On the plus side there was no trouble fitting the universal twin zip-tie bar/stem mount even to flat profile bars.

And while it’s bulky, the combined cadence and speed sensor unit means you only have to fit one piece. One of the benefits of this is that you can move it to your rear wheel when on a turbo trainer, giving you a full readout of information.

Setting it up was a totally different matter, though, with the computer refusing to follow the prescribed but woefully patchy instructions.

While the one button for cadence, one for speed/distance, one for heart rate is simple, once you remember it, it doesn’t give much cross referencing. We’d also rather have bigger numbers than the permanent thermometer icon.
