Review: Saucony Fastwitch 6 running shoes

Any shoe that reaches its sixth incarnation must be doing something right, and that’s certainly the case with Saucony’s flagship race shoe.

Visually it’s quite understated, and we’d certainly switch those traditional laces with a triathlon number – ideally a set from the Greeper or Xtenex range. It’s one of the lightest we've tested recently (224g) and that’s reflected out on the road, where you can’t help but unleash a faster cadence than normal.

The upper’s constructed from what Saucony term ‘FlexFilm’ and we applaud them for it. For years manufacturers focused their efforts on cushioning. In the meantime the upper, so important to match the flex of the foot, was neglected. Not here. Its flexibility helps a fluid run gait and it’s very comfortable, with or without socks.
