After 27 years of hosting one of the UK's toughest open-water swims, Cornwall's Perranporth Extreme Surf Triathlon has finally seen a local win the women's race.
Rhiannon Strickland left the 1500m swim more than 3mins behind rival Fenella Langridge, but managed to claw back time and finally caught her halfway through the run to take victory.
In the men's race, Dave Bartlett was first man out of the water followed by Neil Eddy and then Sam and Tom Wade. Dan Beynon was over a minute and a half behind the leading men out of the dip but went on to secure the lead during the 36km bike and held on during the 7.5km beach run for first place.
