Orca Core Race

The Core Race is at the more affordable end of Orca’s 2009 range, but offers ?both an excellent level of comfort ?and a well-composed collection of ?technical fabrics.

The supple material ensures a forgiving fit, and high levels of breathability are achieved thanks to large areas of mesh ?around the shoulders and back.

Orca’s meshing design is particularly beneficial in hotter running and cycling conditions; on the flipside, that meshing doesn’t provide the best performance in the swim due to water ingress. Consequently, in pool triathlons it’d feel a little sluggish, but this shouldn’t be an issue if combined with a wetsuit.

As with many lower-priced suits, Orca has opted for a thin micro-fleece chamois. It’s fine for seasoned athletes, but those of a more sensitive disposition may prefer higher degrees of padding.

When considering these features and also the clever rear pockets that offer security without fiddly closures, we’re convinced that this will be a popular choice for middle-distance racers.
