Britain's Stuart Hayes won the seventh and final 2013 Life Time Fitness Triathlon series event in Oceanside, California over the weekend, placing him second overall in the series.
Hayes, 34, finished the non-drafting Olympic distance race in 1:48:43. He was followed by US athletes Eric Lagerstrom and Cameron Dye in 1:48:55 and 1:48:57 respectively.
These results gave Dye the overall series win and a prize pot of $50k, while Hayes took second place overall and $25k for the series.
In the women's race, Alicia Kaye (USA) continued her winning run for the series, finishing in 1:58:34. She was followed by Helle Frederiksen (DEN) in 1:59:53 and Lauren Goss (USA) in 2:01:42.
