The sun was shining on Anglesey, north Wales yesterday for the 2014 Sandman Triathlon, with 850 adults and 150 juniors heading to the Newborough Forest for a day of racing.

In the Sandman Sprint (400m/18km/5km) the female winner was Natalie Lawrence who beat nearest rival Tilly Edwards by almost 4mins. In the men’s race the reigning champion Huw Brassington was denied the chance to retain his title by Lewis Eccleston from Astley and Tyldesley Road Runners Club.

The full distance women’s Sandman (1000m/60km/10km) was won by Suzie Richards whilst Ewan Brown took the men’s title – a mirror image of the Slateman Triathlon 2014 earlier this year. The Always Aim High race series will finish with the Snowman Triathlon on 5th October.

Entries to the 2015 Sandman Triathlon go on sale at midday on Saturday 1st November (register your interest here), and the event is expected to sell out quickly again.
