British ITU world champion Non Stanford has predicted that the return of fellow Welshwoman Helen Jenkins to WTS racing will change the dynamics of women's elite racing this year.
Speaking to the ITU's news feed, Stanford said that the arrival of faster swimmers like Jenkins and British athlete Lucy Hall will mean that a lot of the races are decided on the swim and bike. "I’m really working on making sure I’m not missing out on that front pack," she added.
Non says that she is still considering entering the running events at this year's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, in addition to triathlon. "Triathlon would still be the main priority, but I would I love to step into that Commonwealth Games stadium to compete in front of that crowd," she said.
This year's WTS season starts in Auckland, New Zealand on April 5th-6th and takes in eight races, concluding with the Grand Finals in Edmonton, Canada on 26th August to 1st September.
