Review: Garmin Edge 510 Team Bundle bike computer

The Edge 510 sits in the middle of Garmin’s range (the basic version comes in at £249.99); we tested the Team Garmin-Sharp edition complete with argyle colour scheme, out-front bike mount, speed/cadence sensor and a HRM soft strap.

The interface is the same as the Edge 810: you can set up multiple bike profiles and customise up to five training pages as well as maps (but no navigation), elevation and a virtual training partner. Battery life is very good at around 20hrs with GPS on, so you won’t have to charge it more than every few rides.

It’ll also connect with a smartphone via Bluetooth to transfer rides to Garmin Connect as well as allow live tracking and give you weather updates while you’re riding. It’s a top notch training tool that’s basically only lacking turn-by-turn instructions from the more expensive 810.
