Here’s Cannondale’s latest incarnation of their Slice TT/Triathlon bike. Our pictures are of the Black Inc. top-of-the-range version (£7,499.99) but there will be five different versions in total.
It’s so new that Cannondale haven’t released any information on it yet and it won’t be officially launched until Kona this year but the frame design is markedly different than last year’s version. What we do know is that there won't be a nice Slice RS for this year, Cannondale are totally focusing on this model and they stress that a lot of that focus has gone into making it as user-friendly as possible with the lack of an integrated stem and brakes and complete internal cable routing (not just entry and exit holes) indicative of that. They’ve also redesigned the much-criticised seatpost from the 2013 Slice RS.
There's also a focus on comfort with the Synapse Active Vibration Elimination (SAVE) adapted from their hugely popular Synapse road bike added into the rear triangle. The bike is also not UCI compliant, so don't expect to see it used by any road pros.
This one was build up with a Shimano Dura-Ace 9070 electronic groupset, Vision aero chainrings on a Cannondale Hollowgram SISL2 crankset, a Fizik Tritone custom coloured saddle, Vision’s Metron 81 wheelset and a full Vision Trimax carbon cockpit.
