Giro Air Attack bike helmet review

Looking for an aero edge, but not keen on the full Smurf hat look? Want a helmet that you could ride at your Sunday club run or train in without feeling too self-conscious?

Proven in the pro peloton, formerly with Garmin-Sharp and now BMC Racing and Katusha, Giro’s Air Attack has also been victorious on Kona’s lava fields, adorning Leanda Cave for her 2012 win.

At 289g for a large it’s considerably lighter than the full aero helmets we test and, especially on long hot rides, is far more comfortable and cooler to ride in. You can genuinely forget you’re wearing it, which you can never do in the undeniably more claustrophobic full aero lids.

The Roc Loc cradle is super-comfortable, offers precise adjustment and, without earflaps to worry about, will probably save you a few seconds in transition, too.
