Calling all elites – the road to Rio 2016 begins at the World Triathlon Yokohama race on 15 May this year, giving exactly two years to secure a spot at the next Olympics.
"It seems like just yesterday we were in London watching history be made," said Marisol Casado, president of the International Triathlon Union.
"The return of the Olympic qualification period is always a very exciting time, as well as an important phase that spurs the development of our sport."
