Xtreme Storm on C4 this weekend

Tune into Channel 4 on Sunday to watch the inaugural Xtreme Storm challenge

This coming weekend, Channel 4 will be showing the inaugural running of what is set to become a legendary challenge – Xtreme Storm (which took place on 20 April).

The 30-minute programme will air at 7am on Sunday 26 May, and will showcase the event that includes 32 man-made obstacles over a 14-mile course, set in the Victorian seaside resort of Southport. Competitors must take on freezing waters, the sands and mudflats that line the edge of the Irish Sea, climb the mile-long Victorian pier and take on the unusual challenges of the Pleasureland Theme Park, including the Hall of Mirrors. At last they will come to the Xtreme Storm’s final obstacle: Apocalypse!

Tune in this Sunday morning to find out more. In the meantime, head to www.xtremestorm.com.

About

Former 220 deputy editor Liz Barrett started work on the magazine in 2007 as staff writer. During her 18 years with the brand, she reported live from almost every major triathlon across the globe, including the Ironman World Championship, the 70.3 World Championship, six World Triathlon Grand Finals, Challenge Roth, the 2014 and 2022 Commonwealth Games, the London and Paris Olympics and the Rio Paralympics, to name but a few. Name a pro and chances are she’ll have interviewed them, so, unsurprisingly, she’s still our go-to pro-athlete expert. She now works as a freelance journalist, copywriter and editor.
