Entries have opened for the first Xterra Asia-Pacific Championship, to be held in the Australian town of Callala Bay (New South Wales) on 27 April of next year.

The main event will combine a 1.5km swim with 30K of mountain biking, followed by 10K of trail running. There will also be a sprint-distance triathlon, as well as standalone trail runs and ocean swims.

The event will double as the Xterra Australia Championship, awarding national titles to locals and qualifying spots into the 2014 Xterra World Championship.

Xterra's Asia-Pacific series includes championship races in Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Japan, Guam, and the Northern Marianas – more details at www.xterraasiapacific.com.
