Salford Cycle and run event coming up

The Together Trust is appealing for cyclists and runners to dig out their sports kit and help raise funds for Inscape House, the charity’s school for autism in Salford.

The Together Trust is appealing for local people to dig out their sports kit and help raise funds for Inscape House, the charity’s school for autism in Salford, by taking part in a running and cycle event hosted by Sports Tours International in Salford Quays later this month.

On the 27th September the city will play host to its Salford Cycle event and 10k road race. The events appeal to all ages and abilities; people can either saddle or lace up to hit the streets of Salford, taking in all the local sites and landmarks including The Lowry, Manchester United Football Club and the Imperial War Museum.

The Together Trust, one of the North West’s oldest and largest charities, is one of the charity partners for the event, with all funds going to its Inscape School in Salford. All runners and riders are asked to make a pledge to raise £50 for the charity and will all receive a running pack which includes a technical running vest and helpful fundraising advice and training tips.

Inscape Salford is a non-maintained, special school for children with autism spectrum conditions. The schools provide rich and varied curriculums, safe environments and specialised approaches. Each year, they help over 60 children and young people with autism from the North West develop educational, social and daily living skills so they can live as independently as possible in the future.

The Trust is a voluntary organisation and charity founded in 1870. Today it operates over 30 care and special education services to over 1400 children, young people and families in the North of England and Wales who are experiencing emotional, behavioural or social difficulties, physical and learning disabilities and autistic spectrum disorders.
