Competitors in the Outlaw Triathlon in Nottingham on 8th August will be well looked after by Hooters Restaurant as they complete the marathon run section along the River Trent, having already completed a 3,800m swim at the National Water Sports Centre and 112mile bike ride around the county.

Staff from Hooters will be hosting a feed station based at the Water Sports Centre. Local bar, the Living Room, will also open its doors as part of the post race celebrations.

The Outlaw is Britain’s most anticipated race of the year and will be televised by Sky TV on 27 and 28 August. Almost 1,000 athletes have signed up to take on the long distance event, and remaining hydrated will be one of the most important considerations on the day.

Organiser Iain Hamilton said: “Nottingham has some notoriety for having the only Hooters Restaurant in the UK and we are delighted that they have volunteered to be involved. We anticipate our drinks stations being the most attractive drinks stations of any race in the world! When you’re doing a long-distance triathlon, hydration is crucial, but so is enjoyment, and we are working very hard to put on a race that will be memorable and fun.

“We’re keen to show off Nottingham, it was definitely our first choice for the location of this event. We hope that people will come to the city and visit attractions like the Castle and Sherwood Forest, where there are impressive exhibitions of costumes from the Ridley Scott Robin Hood film that will still be there next month when the Outlaw Triathlon takes place.”

Race nutrition will be provided by High5. There will be ten feed stations along the cycle route, where athletes will be offered High5 Energy Source and water. Along the run route there are four feed stations, which athletes will pass a total of 21 times. There will be High5 Energy Source, water, flat cola and gels available.

There are just a few remaining places left in the race and anyone wishing to volunteer will be welcomed. All volunteers will receive clothing, food and drink and a special goodie bag with items provided by our event sponsors and partners. Visit http://www.onestepbeyond.org.uk for more information.
