The organisers of Nottingham's Outlaw and Outlaw Half have confirmed that next year's events will take place next year on 27 July and 1 June respectively, with entries due to open by the end of this month (August 2013).

Both events will start and finish at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham, and will use nearly identical bike and run courses as the 2013 events, with the run course tweaked slightly following finisher feedback.

The Outlaw race - named 220 Triathlon magazine's Event of the Year for three years running – attracted around 1,300 participants this year and involves a 2.4mile swim, 112mile bike ride and 26.2mile marathon run.

This year's event was won by Eugene Grant (9:27:09) and Vicky Gill (9:50:58), while Team Cancer Research UK won the relay with a time of 9:13:19.

Due to the popularity of previous events, organisers One Step Beyond (www.onestepbeyond.org.uk) are now accepting submissions of interest from athletes who wish to be notified as soon as entries open.

Continuing the growing trend of triathlons on TV, highlights of this year's Outlaw will be broadcast by Channel 4 later this month on Sunday 25 August.
