New Balance has released a free iPhone app aimed at runners looking to adopt the principles of Good Form Running, the pioneering running programme which helps to make running a less-painful and more enjoyable part of life.

Through its partnership with Good Form Running, New Balance is striving to enable runners to reduce strain that leads to injury by improving four key elements of their running style – Posture, Midfoot strike, Lean and Cadence.

The Good Form Running app helps users to adopt the programme

The new app provides a step-by-step illustrated Form Guide to explain how to achieve each of the four steps, together with a video overview from former USA Olympian and Good Form Running ambassador, Grant Robison, explaining the principles of the programme.

The app includes a function that allows users to analyse their run and compare their experience with other users of the app to help gauge their progress, and monitor their improvement. Meanwhile, daily tips help users of the app to improve the efficiency of their runs, and to improve their running form.

Runners can also use the app to locate their nearest running store offering Good Form Running clinics, where New Balance experts are on hand to provide guidance and advice on how to adopt the programme, while the app also helps users to identify their ideal New Balance running shoe.

The Good Form Running app is free, and available to download now on the Apple App Store.
