Entries for the National Club Relay Championships are now open. The popular team relay event, which offers clubs the opportunity to battle for British titles, returns to Nottingham on 25/26 August at Holme Pierrepont in Nottingham.

The Club Relays involve a 500m swim, 15km cycle ride and 5km run in teams of four. Each team member completes the swim, tagging to change over, then each person cycles and then runs, meaning there is a break between each leg of the triathlon. The whole event takes place over a closed course, with athletes passing the busy main grandstand several times.

The fastest teams power around the course in around three hours, but the event is open anyone. The emphasis is firmly on fun, with many athletes racing in fancy dress and taking the opportunity to camp on site and celebrate the end of the season in style.

Racing takes place on Saturday (25 August) morning (mixed teams) and afternoon (women’s teams) as well as Sunday (men’s teams). Open teams can race in any of the three sessions. Events do typically sell out, so early entry is encouraged for this fast, fun event.
