The Municipality of Corfu is organising the first MESSONGHI CORFU TRIATHLON on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 of September in cooperation with Trisports Hellas, Kassios Dias Run, Hellenic Rescue Team and Lifeguard School of Corfu.

The venue for the multisport event will be the Messonghi Beach Hotel in the Moraitika area of Corfu. The event will include both a SPRINT (750m – 20Km – 5Km) and OLYMPIC (1,500m – 40Km – 10Km) distance triathlon and will be open to all individuals as well as relay teams comprised of two or three athletes.

There'll also be a free kids mini-duathlon race (swim, run). In addition to the Sunday race, there will be a variety of other activities on Saturday, such as dance performances by local folk groups and a group of mini seminars from experts in multisport (coach, nutritionist, athletic psychologist and elite athletes) followed by Q&A sessions.

The Grand Sponsor of the event, Ionian Hotels, are offering free two nights accommodation and breakfast to all participating athletes, non residents of Corfu, and their families (limit two adults and two children in one room, for a total of four persons per athlete) as well as a free Pasta Party and post-race buffet.

This unique offer is valid for all those who will have paid for their registration by September 13th. The organizing committee of the Messonghi Corfu Triathlon has also secured a 50% discount on the ferry tickets to and from the Greek mainland.

The open-water swim is in the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean, exquisite in temperature in September, the bike leg includes easy rolling hills and winds though century old olive groves offering beautiful vistas of the island. The run is on quiet, gorgeous, seaside country roads.

The 3* Messonghi Beach Hotel is a large, very family friendly resort with its own private beach, offering a large variety of recreational activities. There are four outdoor pools surrounded by free sun beds and a water park.
