First time in race's 25-year history a woman has won the infamously tough duathlon around Box Hill

History was made last weekend by Lucy Gossage at the Spring Ballbuster, winning the event outright in a time of 2:49:28, followed by men's winner Will Newbery around a minute later.

Newbery led the first 12km run section, entering T1 in 46:04mins with Gossage around two minutes behind. Gossage then gradually closed the gap, eventually taking the lead on one of the final climbs and completing the final 12km run less than a minute slower than the first 12km run.

Congratulations Lucy! Age-grouper and Ironman Wales veteran Sophie Radcliffe also wrote a Spring BallBuster race report for us, describing it as "the race that broke me".
