Virgin Active London Triathlon opens the 2013 ballot on 7 January
The Virgin Active London Triathlon is opening the 2013 entry ballot on Monday 7 January. For the chance to secure a place in the world’s largest triathlon, taking place on 27-28 July at the London Docklands, register between 7 January – 7 February online at www.thelondontriathlon.co.uk.
Whether you’re a first time triathlete, enthusiast, elite or even a team of three, this is your opportunity to be part of one of the world’s most iconic triathlons and with six months to go until race day, there is plenty of time to get fit and have fun training for your triathlon experience.
Distances ranging from Super Sprint (400m swim, 10k bike, 2.5k run) to Olympic Plus (1,500 swim, 80k bike, 10k run) and the option to enter the Team Relay and either swim, bike or run to victory, provide opportunities for individuals of all fitness abilities.
Last year saw over 13,000 age-group athletes sign-up for the challenge alongside famous personalities who also caught the tri bug such as Sir Richard Branson, David Hasselhoff and Alexandra Burke.
They joined London 2012 Olympic triathletes Lucy Hall, Stuart Hayes and past Olympian Leon Taylor at the Docklands waterside. Previous years have seen Jenson Button, Vernon Kay and Mel C participate in the swim, bike and run event.
This is final opportunity for any prospective entrants to secure a general entry place. The event highly advises an early sign up – from Monday 7 January at 00.01 until Thursday 7 February 23.59 online at www.thelondontriathlon.co.uk – to avoid disappointment.
