The WTC, organisers of IRONMAN 70.3 UK, have announced today that the race is almost full for 2013, and that any athletes who wish to race should enter in the next few days to secure a place in the race.

Places in the event may still be available via the two official charities, Rotary and Scope, who will subsidise the entry cost in return for fundraising by athletes, as well in conjunction with Nirvana Europe, the official travel partner, as part of an event package.

IRONMAN 70.3 UK will be held on 16 June 2013 at Wimbleball Lake and the setting of Exmoor National Park, along with the challenges of the famous bike course, will attract another sell out field. With IRONMAN UK selling out in October, it will leave IRONMAN Wales as the only race with places still available in the WTC’s UK calendar for 2013 and entries for the race in September are also well ahead of last year.

Kevin Stewart, Managing Director of IRONMAN UK said: “We are delighted that IRONMAN 70.3 UK is selling out ahead of last year, as did the full distance IRONMAN UK. We have had so many athletes begging for a place in Bolton that we want to make sure athletes realise this isn’t a ploy! The general entries for Wimbleball will be gone very soon as we already have over 95% of places sold.”
