Race places now available for Italy's only iron-distance triathlon

Imagine Swimming in the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean Sea, riding above the coast looking towards Corsica and Tuscany and, finally, running inside a typical Italian village with a multiple passage in the crowded center. This is Elbaman!

The only iron-distance triathlon (3.8k – 180k – 42.2k) held in Italy and carried on with passion, consistancy and enthusiasm by an incredible group led by an experienced and dedicated triathlete.

The 7th annual race proved another great day for the 720 athletes that competed in the three different events: Iron individual, Iron Relay and half-iron individual. The Water temperature was 21°C (wetsuit allowed) and a tranquil bay welcomed all for the swim section. 720 athletes from 20 countries competed in the race, showing the great reputation Elbaman has built up across the world.

The 2012 and eighth annual Elbaman has now opened for entries and will take place on 30 September.

There is a limited number of places and, if the trend continues, the race will sell out quickly once again.

Elba Island is a great place for a holiday in the second half of September with perfect weather and relatively low tourism. The closest airport is Pisa, easily reachable with direct flights from most of the European capitals. It’s then an easy drive in a hire car by coach.
