Cornwall Triathlon Series ready to go

With Liskeard Triathlon, the first event of this year’s series less than two weeks away and with more than double the numbers of last year, the Cornwall Triathlon Series 2013 is continuing to grow at a phenomenal rate. 

The 2012 series was a milestone for triathlon participation in Cornwall. Carrick Leisure, who deliver leisure services on behalf of Cornwall Council, invested heavily in raising participation in triathlon and developed a 10 event series with locations spanning the width and breadth of the county and offering a broad choice of distances and environments, being sure to take advantage of easy access to beaches!

The series was a tour de force of efforts and experience from local clubs and the team from Carrick. It built upon existing events organised by local clubs by the development of seven events by Carrick – an increase from just three in 2011. The result was an explosion of interest and incredible growth, especially amongst novices. This year is following the same trend with many entries from those embarking on their first tri – the range of events on offer suit both novices as well as those wanting to challenge themselves.
