The second annual WatersideTri took place in Bradwell Waterside on Sunday. The event included the long-distance classic, as well as middle and challenge distance events.

In the Challenge distance Anne Hegvold of Norway and Ful-on Tri won in an incredible time of 2hrs 20mins 27s. Martin Jessup came second overall and was first male in only his fourth triathlon with a time of 2hrs 22mins 45s.

In the Middle distance Chris Leeman of Team Viper won with an outstanding time of 4hrs 41mins 26s while Zoe Ferguson of Melbourne Tri Club was second overall, first female and first Australian in an equally impressive 4hrs 46mins 33s.

In the Long Distance Classic Colin Lewin returned to defend his title and did so emphatically with a time of 6hrs 22mins 49s with Michelle Blackmore of West Country Triathletes the first female in 8hrs 51mins 16s.

The Zone 3 swim course received excellent feedback with athletes particularly enjoying swimming alongside the moored yachts in the river. Competitors also commented on how much they enjoyed the cycle course and, by the time the cyclists returned for the run, a good crowd of people had gathered to enjoy the spectacle.

Thanks goes to all of the fantastic marshals, Bradwell Marina, Bradwell Outdoor Centre and our sponsors; Triathlon Europe, Zoggs, Hi-Tec, Zone 3, Yum Yum Bros, Tri & Tri Again and Dogcam Sport.
