Additional places for Outlaw Half available

200 extra places announced for previously sold-out event

One Step Beyond has released 200 additional places for the new middle distance event, the Outlaw Half, which takes place on 2 June 2013 in Nottingham.

The event sold out in just a few days last month and charity places through Cancer Research UK are also sold out.

The entry system on http://www.onestepbeyond.org.uk is open and accepting entries now. Prospective competitors are encouraged to enter as soon as possible.

The race, covering a 1,900m swim, 56 mile bike ride and 13.1mile run, will take place on 2 June in Nottingham. The start and finish are both at the National Water Sports Centre, which also hosts the Outlaw and the popular National Club Relays. The event will also feature a triathlon expo.

The swim will take place with three different wave starts and the bike course will cover one lap. The run will cover two laps along the River Trent and finish in front of the grandstand.

The additional 200 places have become available through close working with local partners in Nottinghamshire. The weekend promises to be one of the biggest in the 2013 triathlon calendar, with 1300 athletes taking part in the Outlaw Half on Sunday 2 June, the National Sprint Championships taking place on Saturday 1 June and the Emergency Services Championships taking place on Friday 31 May.

The Outlaw Triathlon (7 July) is also sold out and there are no immediate plans to release additional places. However, there is a waiting list in operation. There are still places available via Cancer Research UK. Visit http://running.cancerresearchuk.org/events/outlaw-triathlon.
