The British Triathlon Awards were held this weekend in Birmingham, with 220 Triathlon’s performance and gear contributor, Andy Bullock, taking home the Leigh Day & Co. British Triathlon Coach of the Year award.
Andy has been a triathlon coach for ten years and is also qualified as a British Triathlon Coach Educator. As head coach of Bristol and District Triathletes (Badtri), one of his key achievements has been growing the coaching staff at the club from four people eight years ago to a growing team of over 20 coaches delivering 18 sessions a week for club members.
Andy added: “I started when I was at Loughborough University; I joined the triathlon club, enjoyed what was happening there and wanted to get more involved, so I started doing my coaching qualification. [Since the Olympic games] the junior section of my club has almost doubled in size.”
Other winners at the night were Alistair Brownlee (who took three awards), Helen Jenkins, Stephen Bayliss and Leanda Cave. The Celtman took the British Triathlon Event of the Year.
