Jabra Sport Pulse headphones review

In among the trapped water from the previous day’s swim set, the new Sport Pulse headphones from Jabra somehow find your heart rate in your ear, opening up a range of app-based training possibilities.

Linking wirelessly to the Sport Life app, they monitor your workouts to offer in-ear feedback, and also sync with iTunes, playing music to match your workout intensity.

Set-up was simple and we were impressed by the sound quality and comfort. Plus, with fitness tests available, the Sport Pulse is a useful tool for assessing progress and recording each session. In practice, we had to adjust the earphones to start with as they kept losing our pulse.

Plus we had a couple of issues with accuracy during testing – being told we’d achieved a ‘poor’ result and only covered 128m after 12mins of near vomit-inducing running didn’t go down well!

Verdict: Great for gadgety types, but not without accuracy issues, 78%
