Among the masses of neoprene to catch our eye at this year's Triathlon Show were Taiwanese brand Aropec.

Formed 50 years ago, Aropec has previously designed and manufactured diving, surfing, fishing, swimming, sailing, fitness and outdoors equipment markets for a host of global sport brands. As one of the largest exporters of neoprene, they’ve now turned their attention to tri-specific gear.

The Reindeer (above) is part of their two-strong tri wetsuit range, and features a mix of 2mm (back/arm/hip/legs) and 3mm (chest and front thigh) neoprene throughout. The price of £109.99, like much of Aropec’s range, warrants a double-take, with other features including blind-stitching inside to minimise chafing.

The Cheetah (£145.99) completes the range, with a 5mm and 3mm construction throughout and ‘integrated printing’ on the chest to guide and divert water flow. Distributed in the UK by Goldstar Leisure, Aropec’s tri-suits start at £19.99 and we’ll be seeing how the Reindeer stands up to the tri wetsuit titans in our big grouptest coming in the June 2014 issue of 220 Triathlon (on sale 29th April).
