Mako Aumakua swimsuit review

Mako boast that you ‘don’t have to have a perfect body to look great in an Aumakua’, their swimsuit range that takes its name from a Hawaiian god. And the suits reflect that with a sleek, streamlined design.

The cut is high leg with an open back, while the thin straps provide support but also allow for maximum range of movement and give that ‘barely there’ feel, which is great because it allows you to simply get on with your training without having to worry about comfort.

The chlorine-resistant Endurotek material (53% polyester, 47% PBT) feels thick, but not restrictive, and is soft to the touch – another plus in the comfort stakes.

As for the bright design, there are a number of options to choose from other than the psychedelic bear pictured here, all with fantastic names such as Pink Zebra, Jigsaw and Colour Bubble. Each one guaranteed to make a bold statement poolside.

Verdict: Affordable, eye-catching, durable swimsuit, 90%
