Review: Arena Nimesis Polarized swim goggles

Good anti-glare qualities and a comfortable fit, but came up very wide for our tester

The Nimesis Polarized from swim specialists Arena is a cheap-looking affair and that’s primarily down to the bright green ratchet mechanism.

But those aesthetics can be deceiving as, though not receiving the reassuring ‘click’ of many models, release and clamping of the goggle strap was easy and, more importantly, secure.

Those polarized lenses did an ample job of reducing glare, which came in handy indoors and out on a surprisingly sunny test period. The body, seal and split-strap is constructed from liquid silicone, so comfort’s good. Durability should be, too. Like all Arena goggles they’re anti-fog and provide a modicum of UV protection.

Unfortunately, and despite this tester’s rather large bonce/hair combo, they’re very wide. A flexible nose-bridge is meant to change sizing options but it has a habit of returning to its original position. It didn’t lead to water ingress but, in an optical way, was unsettling.

A shame, as these are pretty good.
