Energy-wise this product packs an impressive punch, with a 686.6kcal hit per 500ml. A significant level of this is contained within the carbohydrate content at 73.8g. This product also contains a high level of protein at 35.6g, making up more than a third of your required daily intake. There’s a decent level of sodium in there to replenish losses through sweat, plus a concoction of glutamine, beta-alanine and HMB.

Be warned, though: the fat content is sky high at 27.4g. It’s likely that this is due to the added colostrum (the ‘first milk’ produced just after birth), which is something to consider if weight control is an issue, particularly since little hard evidence exists to confirm its nutritional value.

The vanilla taste is average but bearable, and the drink does mix well, without any annoying froth.
