Lazer Z1 bike helmet

Belgian brand's lightest-ever lid promises ARS retention system plus temple protection

At 220g for the medium size, Lazer’s lightest-ever lid is just on the horizon.

To get the perfect fit, the Z1 also features what Lazer call their ARS retention system (an update to their existing Rollsys system): you adjust the fit by pushing a thumbwheel, which sits on top of the helmet, towards the back.

Another new feature is their ‘T-Pro’ design, standing for ‘temple protection’. Essentially, the outer shell of the helmet scoops down on the sides of your forehead to provide more coverage in that area.

So if you want a lid that offers that extra protection but doesn’t come at the cost of more weight, the Z1 is well worth a look. We’ll be testing very soon.
