Planet X TRX Triathlon Shoes review

Planet X has made a business out of attacking the lower reaches of the price spectrum, and their tri shoes are another product following suit.

>>> Best tri bike shoes 2015

They feature a PGF (phosphate glass fibre) composite sole and tick off all the usual features you’d look for in a set of tri shoes.

The main strap is thick and the Velcro powerful, but it sits open very nicely, which is ideal for a quick transition.

There’s a big heel loop on the back that’s easy to locate without a glance, and a decent amount of ventilation that should do its job right through the height of summer.

In use, they’re perfectly comfortable in bare feet, which is a huge plus for any tri shoe. The heel bumper isn’t replaceable though, so we wouldn’t recommend too much running through transition if you have ambitions for the shoes lasting for a long time.

Verdict: A solid set of shoes that just about justifies its £70 price tag, 76%
