One23 Extreme Bright 3

If you’ve followed the 2011 trend for white bike kit, then the One 23 Extreme Bright 3 could provide the final aesthetic finishing touch you’re after. Both the light and power pack score heavily on style and the rubber wrap-around strap makes fitting simple, either to the bars or to the supplied helmet mount.

In keeping with the minimalist design, control through the three levels – high, low and flashing – is easy with the top-mounted button. The three levels give 3, 4 and 6.5hrs of burn time, respectively.

The beam on full burn offers a reasonably penetrating spot but the flood is a little fragmented and disappointing. There’s also very little difference between the two beams, and a lower low beam with more burn would make it more versatile.

For just over £100, though, it’d see you through most on-road riding situations and, at a push, some easy-paced off-roading.
