Good turn-out and great atmosphere at Saturday's Festival of Sport

Well, it promised much and so far it’s delivered. We’re down in Marazion, Cornwall, for the inaugural Festival of Sport.

Marazion, nestled on the south coast of Cornwall about three miles from Penzance, is bristling with triathletes, runners, open-water swimmers, cyclists… In short, this is an endurance athlete’s dream.

Today plays host to sprint, Olympic and middle-distance triathlons. As well as open-water swim events.

Yesterday welcomed sportives ranging from 40km to 150km, beach runs from 5km to 10km and open-water swims (3km to 10km).

In addition to the sport, Jamie Oliver’s brought a feast of food. Though we haven’t seen him cook it personally yet; there’s plenty of fun events for the kids (Helen Glover started the kid’s run); and even Reef have been here, strumming their big hit(s) to a lively crowd.

We’re back down to Marazion now to cover the tri. For now, click here for some photo memories from yesterday… Festival of Sport
