The world’s best half-Ironman athletes have had a long wait to decide their world champions as the 2025 Ironman 70.3 World Championship doesn’t take place until 8-9 November!

When is the 2025 Ironman 70.3 World Champs?
This year’s Championship event, on the weekend of 8-9 November, sits at the end of an action-packed year of pro multisport racing that included the T100 series, the World Triathlon Championship Series, the Ironman Pro Series, Supertri, Xterra…
In a continuation of the championships’ two-day format, the professional and age-group women race on the Saturday while the same male categories compete on Sunday.

Marbella hosts this year’s championship on the Andalusian coast, becoming the first Spanish city and fourth in European to do so.

What’s the course for the 2025 Ironman 70.3 World Champs?
The 1.2mi / 1.9km swim course

The swim starts on the Levante Beach in Puerto Banús and enters the Mediterranean Sea for 300m before turning north east then south east. Swimmers will then turn south west for 525m parallel to the shore. A westerly turn will send them directly back to shore and then south west into transition.
The 56mi / 90km bike course

The 56mi / 90km bike course is a hilly single-circuit with 5,857ft / 1785m of elevation gain.
From Puerto Banús beach, the competitors will ride along the palm-lined ‘Golden Mile’ along the shore. The climbing will start when they turn inland on the A-355 and pass through Ojen village. After reaching the highest point of the course, they’ll descend through Monda and Coin. The turnaround willl direct them back to the top of the course. From here, it’s pretty much all downhill to the beach.
The 13.1mi / 21.1km run course

The run course is much flatter as it hugs the shore for 13.1mi / 21km.
The athletes will travel up the Golden Mile on foot and then turn back to the marina in each of the two laps.
