Norwich Triathlon 2011

There are still entries available for this July's event

There are still places available for the popular Norwich Triathlon on Sunday 3 July.

Run by the Tri-Anglia Triathlon Club, the event will take place at scenic Whitlingham Country Park with an estimated 430 entrants expected.

Among the competitors will be three relay teams entered by event sponsors Cozens-Hardy, who’ll be supplying nine of the firm’s solicitors, who’ll be dipping their toes in the challenging water that is the triathlon, all except one of them for the first time.

Also battling it out for overall honours will be BBC Radio Norfolk sports broadcaster Richard Hancock, and arguably the most successful Paratriathlete in the world last year, visually impaired athlete Iain Dawson.

The event will also represent a remarkable turnaround in fitness and competition success for local athlete Andrew Goodchild, a qualified helicopter pilot. Having competed in the inaugural Norwich Triathlon, back in 2005, when he finished 70th out of 76 competitors, this year he was selected to represent Great Britain in his age group at the European Duathlon Championship as well as the World Duathlon Championship in Spain.
