New survey finds UK triathlon growing fast
Participation rising dramatically, according to industry association
The UK’s Triathlon Industry Association (TIA) has revealed that ever-increasing numbers of people are being attracted to our sport, with a new annual survey finding race entries are up 25% this year.
The survey found that in total, around 100,000 Brits competed in 160,000 race starts in 2013, with nearly a third of them buying a new bike and around a quarter purchasing a new wetsuit at some point.
The TIA surveyed 3,800 triathletes and says its findings depict a growing “affluent, well-educated and dedicated community” who are passionately committed to their sport.
