Entires open for 2012 Shock Absorber WomenOnly Tri

Time to sign up for Dorney Lake event

Organisers Human Race have announced that the 2012 Shock Absorber WomenOnly Triathlon will take place on Sunday 10 June at Dorney Lake, Eton, and entries are already open.

On board once again are title sponsor Shock Absorber and official charity, Breast Cancer Care, who will raise vital funds through the event to support people who have been affected by breast cancer.

The 2011 event saw 1,500 women take part in the annual women’s festival of swim, bike and run and with demand expected to increase in 2012, capacity for the 2012 event has been raised to the 2,000 mark.

The day includes a variety of different options with something for all abilities. The Novice distance features a 200 metre swim, 5 kilometre bike and 2.5 kilometre run while the Challenge event sees participants take on an 800m swim, 30km bike and 7.5km run.

With a Sprint distance event (400m, 20k, 5k) sandwiched in between the two, and a Relay option for those looking to take on the three disciplines as part of a team, it’s the perfect way for women of all ages and abilities to take on the triathlon challenge.

More information on the Shock Absorber WomenOnly Triathlon can be found at www.humanrace.co.uk, along with details on how to enter online.
