Stolen Goat Ibex Advanced SS tri-suit review
Does the flashy, sleek Ibex tri-suit from Stolen Goat perform for sim, bike, and run? We find out

220 Triathlon Verdict
Good balance of ventilation and comfort and nice to see a slightly different, striking design on test. Score: 89%
Pros
- Comfortable, aero fit
- Breathable and fast-drying
- Well-balanced chamois
Cons
- Short torso and high collar for this tester
The Ibex Advanced tri-suit from Stolen Goat has a good fit and the Chemistry colour tested here offers an attractive eye catching design on the upper body.
The suit sits in contact with the body in all places which aids aerodynamics but doesn’t feel constrictive around the hips and shoulders offering a comfortable fit with plenty of freedom for movement.
How we test tri-suits
Each tri-suit we review gets put through the same level of testing, including numerous bike, bike, runs, triathlons, AND brick sessions, of varying distances over the period of several weeks at a minimum. We test against a range of criteria, including comfort, breathability, support, stability, pocket capacity, durability, aerodynamics, and value. For more details, see how we rate and test products.
Features and fit

Made from a four-way stretch fabric, it adjusts to your body shape well. The sleeves and legs are raw cut edges so no uncomfortable seams and the legs are held in place by effective silicone grippers.
The sleeves are made from a slightly different material which grips neatly onto the upper arms holding the sleeves in place.
The front torso panel means that it has a jersey-style opening which makes it so much easier to get on and off especially if you have strong swimmer’s shoulders!
I would have benefitted from a slightly longer length on the front of the body as I did end up with a small gap between the top and the shorts.
I also found the collar quite high in comparison to other suits on test which lead to some chaffing during swimming when coupled with a wetsuit.
A wider neck may have prevented the top pulling up to reveal my belly button mid run.
Comfort and performance

The suit is made from a lightweight and airy fabric which helps to maintain a comfortable body temperature assisted by the perforated holes in the rear body and side panels which mean that any sweat build up could quickly escape and evaporate.
The fabric is good at not taking on too much water in the swim so dried quickly post swim without excessive dripping at the start of cycling.
The close fit of the suit meant no drag whilst cycling and the FZPS420 – Cancun Slim Pro 5 chamois offered adequate protection for the 50km rides I tested it on.
The chamois offers a good balance between providing comfort on the bike without becoming uncomfortable on the run. When running, I wasn’t really aware of it at all and there was no chafing.
The zip runs smoothly up and down meaning you can easily unzip for some extra cooling mid run and the tri-suit features two pockets on the rear with ventilation which prevents the contents from becoming too sweaty.
Snacks were relatively easy to access during the run and it was great that I could open the packets as they weren’t saturated with sweat.

The bottom line
Stolen Goat offer a race-ready fit with the Ibex Triathlon suit and is a great option for those new to triathlon or the more seasoned athlete.
The body contouring fit provides a great balance of comfort and performance. Its ventilation means it is an ideal choice for a sunny day triathlon.
