The Triathlete’s Training Bible (3rd Edition)

It’s over 10 years since the first edition of Friel’s bible was published and, third time around, it’s just as good, if not better. Completely revised, the third edition includes more information on intensity of training, skills, strength and nutrition, plus brand new sections on ageing athletes, novices and Ironman training. It now also includes some colour, which makes the charts and illustrations easier to navigate.

This is a manual best suited to those who have settled into a training programme for a year or two and are looking for some significant improvements. There are no schedules in this book; rather an amazing amount of expert advice, complete with real-life examples, focusing on what’s happening to your body and why you should consider certain training methods. How you devise your training is left up to you. The book then provides the back-up you require to analyse your body’s reaction and move to the next level just as a coach would do.
