Adidas Adizero Pro 3

Here we are at the minimal end of the scale. These weigh in at around 170g so, if you’re worried about protection, look elsewhere. These shoes are all about converting every scrap of fitness into speed.

The midsole is low profile and very flexible at the forefoot, and the upper fits like a glove. Adidas’ shoes are half a size smaller than most others (except New Balance), but knowing this you should be fine. The outsole also bites the ground for great traction on wet or dry roads.

Where this shoe scores added points is that for such a thin midsole, there’s more spring from the cushioning than you’d expect. And the low-profile nature of the shoe means it actually feels quite stable. But at the end of the day, this shoe is all about speed, speed and more speed.
