Kask Bambino bike helmet review

Expensive and not the best for T1, but a high-quality TT helmet

Kask Bambino helmet

The Kask Bambino was one of the first bobtail helmets and is well worth considering if you tend to move and drop your head or regularly race on courses plagued by crosswinds. While light on your head, tipping the scales at only 425g including the visor, it’s heavy on the wallet at a penny under £300.

The visor pops on easily and is secured in place by five magnets (the first generation issues with the magnets dropping off have been resolved). It comes supplied with a clear visor, but you can also buy mirrored and orange ones for £69.99 and £49.99, respectively.

The Bambino is comfortable to ride in, with removable Coolmax pads and an imitation leather strap, but the velcro strap cradle can be a bit fiddly in the cauldron of T1. Ventilation is surprisingly good via the six front and four rear vents, but in wet conditions you may find yourself ditching the visor because of fogging.
