Crank Brothers Quattro Ti

The Quattro takes the legendary Eggbeater MTB pedal design onto tarmac with some distinct advantages. This road version sets the small brass cleat into a plastic horseshoe, with conventional three-bolt backing plate for a universal shoe fit.

The four-sided, all-access retention system in the centre of the double-sided body makes for assured engagement with noticeably less ‘hunting’. The horseshoe surround also gives really good support and stability on the steel wings, without affecting smooth step-in/twist-out engagement.

The cleats are also the most natural to walk in. Float is unsprung with release angle varying between 15° and 20°, depending what cleats you run on the left and right. But they do feel tall compared to other types and even this titanium-spindled version at 364g is still relatively hefty.
