Wellington to return to Roth

Triple world IM champ to defend her title in July

Chrissie Wellington will return to defend her title at the ninth running of the Quelle Challenge Roth, the world’s largest long-course triathlon, on 18 July in the German hamlet of Roth. The three-time Ironman world champion will headline a top-class field to be announced soon.

In her debut in Roth last year, the amazing Brit lowered the world’s best time for women over the distance (3.8km swim/180km bike/42.2km run) to an incredible 8:31:59. She shattered the record of 8:45:48 set just a year earlier, also on the Roth course, by Dutch star Yvonne van Vlerken.

In all, some 2,500 individual competitors and 550 teams from around the world will start the classic event. For more information, please visit the newly redesigned Quelle Challenge Roth website at www.challenge-roth.com.
