Triathlon Live

New initiative launched by the ITU, BTF and LOCOG to allow spectators to swim, bike and run on state-of-the-art equipment and watch the Olympics on the big screen

Triathlon Live allows fans and novices alike the next best experience to competing in the triathlon events at the London 2012 Olympic Games, all neatly packed into an area less than half the size of a tennis court.

Participants can jump into the Endless Pool and test their abilities against a current that will challenge swimmers of all abilities. Next they’ll bike and run on our state of the art equipment as they take in all the action from the triathlon events on Saturday 4 August and Tuesday 7 August on the big screens.

Located in the heart of eight cities across Britain, this is a chance for people all across the UK to take part in the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Triathlon Live will feature big screens and event spaces during the London 2012 Olympic Games, offering community triathlon events and broadcasts of Olympic competitions on the giant screens at each location.

During the Olympics there’ll be competitions, coaching seminars and open sessions for the public to try the sport in a fun and safe environment.

Locations

In all there are eight Triathlon Live Sites operating across the UK, with sites in England, Scotland and Wales all completely free and open to the public.

Triathlon Live is an initiative by the International Triathlon Union and British Triathlon working in conjunction with LOCOG, the BBC and local authorities. Endless Pools (www.endlesspools.co.uk) are providing the state-of-the-art pools for the project.
